Handmade Knives
I am a Husband, Father, Veteran and Cyber Security Engineer that needed an outlet for my creativity and desire to make something that didn't consist of electronic bits and would be replaced in 5 years.
I have always been interested in knives and when I was 14 (way back in the 70's) I read a book from the library on how to make a knife. Sadly, it took almost 40 years for me to take that first step and make my first hardened blade. Thanks to some positive feedback and constructive criticism I continue to pursue the craft and perfect my skills.
As an Army veteran, I have relied on knives and learned what is and is not important in a blade. From bushcraft and camping to food prep in a kitchen my goal is to make the very best tool possible for it's purpose. Aesthetics are important because a knife that looks good is more enjoyable to own. However, form should always follow function. A knife that feels good in your hand, cuts well, and stays sharp is more enjoyable to use.
I strive to make functional, affordable, and reliable blades that are a pleasure to use and a source of pride in ownership and something that can be passed on to the next generation.
I make forged high carbon blades that are tough, easy to sharpen and hold an edge. I can work with stainless if required. My specialty is EDC and Culinary knives in the 3 to 9-inch blade range. I feel that the 12 - 15 inch "Crocodile Dundee" knives generally get little use and are more for collectors.
